My research interests include atmospheric hazards, risk perception, and risk communication. My current research involves testing the use and application of a new vulnerability tool called the Brief Vulnerability Overview Tool (BVOT) that can be used by National Weather Service forecasters and Emergency Managers.

My previous research focused on understanding how Tampa Bay area residents use and value Doppler radar applications to make decisions about impending weather hazards.

As a geographer, I get to study both the physical and human aspects of weather within a spatial context.
