My primary research area is at the intersection of meteorology and societal impacts, studying weather risk perception and communication. I have conducted research with the public and stakeholders, including National Weather Service meteorologists and emergency managers.

 

I am currently studying how small businesses in the Southeastern U.S. use weather information to make decisions for their employees and patrons. I am also testing the use and application of a new vulnerability tool called the Brief Vulnerability Overview Tool (BVOT) that can be used by National Weather Service forecasters and Emergency Managers.
